UTGSM launched Health Disparities Awareness Month in January 2022, fostering discussions on community engagement, disparities, and population health. Since then, we have successfully hosted multiple educational series, creating valuable opportunities for resident learners, faculty, and staff to explore these critical topics.
Each year, the Health Engagement, Access, and Research Series (HEARS) seeks to enhance regional and national awareness of health disparities. We aim to offer concise, high-yield presentations that deliver impactful insights in easily digestible formats. Our ultimate goal is to deepen understanding of health disparities in order to improve the outcomes of all communities in Eastern Tennessee.
