Faculty and residents from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, Knoxville (UTHSC COM-Knoxville) had an impressive showing at the CHEST 2025 Conference, held October 19-22 in Chicago, Illinois. Hosted by the American College of Chest Physicians, CHEST is one of the premier international meetings in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine, celebrating 90 years of advancing innovation and excellence in the field.
This year’s participation showcased the strong academic and clinical leadership of UTHSC COM-Knoxville’s Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) division. Dr. Rajiv Dhand presented in the “Best of CHEST Journals” session, while Dr. Francisco Soto served as session chair for a panel on advanced pulmonary circulation diagnostics and was recognized as incoming chair of the Pulmonary Vascular and Cardiovascular Network.
Faculty and residents delivered numerous oral presentations and research posters across multiple sessions, covering topics such as COPD management, pulmonary hypertension, bronchoscopy, cardiovascular disease, and critical care outcomes. Participants included Drs. Rajiv Dhand, Francisco Soto, Mona Dasgupta, Soham Nadkarni, Stefan Weston, Jesse Woodall, Ann Ramberg, Ghassan Wadi, and Ahmad Othman.
Their broad representation at CHEST 2025 highlights the depth of clinical expertise, research collaboration, and commitment to advancing patient care within UTHSC COM-Knoxville’s pulmonary and critical care programs.
